Automatic updates from own repo
I just don't get it.. I've set up my own repositary, signed it, and imported the key to YaST. Still, every package installed from it is marked as "locked" and doesn't update automatically. How do I get around that? I don't want to auto-update "interactive" patches since it'll update kernels which in turn would render some apps dead in the water util I take care of it manually. -- Anders Norrbring Norrbring Consulting

There is a related thread in the opensuse list, did you see it? If it doesn't apply, they might know. «Creating a repository out of a directory» - -- Cheers, Carlos E. «Creating a repository out of a directory»
I don't know which thread you're referring to, but the repositary is there, it's signed, it contains signed packages, and the key is imported to the system. So, I can install from the repo, it finds all packages alright, but after installing them, they all get marked as "Locked" and doesn't automatically update, I have to do it manually. -- Anders Norrbring Norrbring Consulting

I don't think there is anything you can do. Maybe it is the result of using a YUM type repository (i.e. repodata) instead of the Yast type. That might be it, but even when packman had Yast repositories, they were still locked. -- Joe Morris Registered Linux user 231871
