Hi All
I've been using my card for a few years now without any problems. Now it has suddenly stop. (I can't remember if it was after an update). Dmesg gives the following info:
[ 17.009814] cx88[0]/2: frontend initialization failed [ 17.009839] cx88[0]/2: dvb_register failed (err = -22) [ 17.009865] cx88[0]/2: cx8802 probe failed, err = -22
Apart from this I can see and configure it in yast. However, kaffeine (which is the app I usually use) cannot find any device.
Using Kernel 3.4.11-2.16-desktop, openSuSE 12.2 and KDE 4.9.5 "release 3"
Don't know if someone out there has a similar pci satellite TV card, and knows of any solution. Would appreciate any help or advice.
Thanks in advance. Eddie

Better check if it started to happen after an update. I would check older boot logs in /var/log/messages for comparison. If it was not after an update, it might have simply died...
Thanks Stephan,
The problem seemed to be a loose card. I opened my computer and checked that the card was seated properly. On restarting my computer and kaffeine, the card was present and functional.
