Setting up an ATI Radeon 9000 Pro to use 3D acceleration
I am using Suse Linux 9.0 pro and I have an ATI Radeon 9000 pro video card. I am having trouble setting up the card to use 3D. I have the lastest drivers from ATI, but it keeps telling the card does not support 3D. This is not true, because it sure supported 3D in that other operating ssytem. If someone could help I would appreciate it. Thanks, Jim ________________________________________________ PeoplePC: It's for people. And it's just smart. http://www.peoplepc.com

Go to ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/X/XFree86/ATI/ suse90/fglrx . listed there are the ati drivers and a great instruction page that got mine up and running in no time. Although I've only got an 8500, it is supposed to work with most of the cards. Have you tried just using the modules that come with 9.0? (the radeon module for 2.4.21) Worked fine here. But you have to go into Sax2 and turn on 3D. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S. Hello. Do you know if this drivers support Ati Radeon Mobility 7000 (Chipset Ati Cabo U1). I'm using a Compaq Presario 900 Laptop it works fine in 2D but not in 3D. Thanks El Viernes, 23 de Enero de 2004 18:02, Bruce Marshall escribió:
