HI, all, As far as I can tell I've got xf86, xf86_3x. xf86glx-devel and xf86 tools all installed. I'm installing a mail program (Sylpheed) that I used in 7.2. Here's the problem : Output of config.log:
configure:7997: gcc -o conftest -g -O2 -I/usr/include/gtk-1.2 -I/usr/include/gli b-1.2 -I/usr/lib/glib/include -I/usr/X11R6/include conftest.c -L/usr/lib -L/u sr/X11R6/lib -lgtk -lgdk -rdynamic -lgmodule -lglib -ldl -lXi -lXext -lX11 -lm 1 >&5 /usr/i486-suse-linux/bin/ld: cannot find -lXi collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
On the Sylpheed list someone said, The linker can't find libXi.so or libXi.a. I'm guessing libXi is the Xinput library. It should have come along with your X installation: on my Slackware box it's part of the xf86prog package. Perhaps you missed one of the X development packages. Does anyone know what the equivalent is on Suse 8? I searched without luck on the suse site. TIA< Nck

andjoh@winona:~> zgrep libXi.a /SuSE-8.0/CD1/ARCHIVES.gz ./CD2/suse/x2/xdevel-4.2.0-64.i386.rpm: -rw-r--r-- root root 61522 Mar 25 20:13 /usr/X11R6/lib/libXi.a So the name of the package is xdevel, and it's on the second CD. regards Anders
