Hmm, can I use a resolution of 1520x1140 with AccelX or MetroX? With this resolution I get a refresh rate of 79 Hz on a 17" monitor. Last time I checked the commercial X servers allowed me to choose between 1280x1024 (which is unusable as it doesn't have the 4:3 ratio) or 1600x1200 (which I cannot use because the refresh rate is too poor). Only XFree86 allows me to optimize my setup (maybe meanwhile the other servers have this feature, too. Really don't know).

I have tried AccelX and MetroX and I get much better performance from xfree with my card (s3v). I was just pointing out that there are alternatives to be explored if you are unhappy with your video in xfree. -- ==================================================================== Michael Lankton <A HREF="http://tasteslikechicken.ml.org"><A HREF="http://tasteslikechicken.ml.org</A">http://tasteslikechicken.ml.org</A</A>> ==================================================================== - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
