In beta 3 I was able to get mp3 support by installing realplayer (suse 9.3) and amarok-helix (kde supplementary), in beta 4 it doesn't work any longer ... The engine is simply not listed. Anyone an idea how to debug this ?
amarok-helix isn't on the OSS version of SUSE Linux, because it depends on RealPlayer which obviously isn't open source software ;) But it will be on the retail version. Regards Christoph -- Christoph Thiel <ct@kki.org>, http://ct.kki.org/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- I know, but there should be a reason why it works in beta 3 and not in beta 4 ... (of course I will buy the retail version as soon as it is available). Is there a more prefered way to have mp3 support ? greetz Frederik

The version in kde supplementary might be incompatible with the amarok on beta4. You could just compare the version number and/or changelog entries of amarok and amarok-helix. If you want to get a working amarok, check out http://ct.kki.org/packages/10.0-beta4/ (You can use that URL in YaST). Be sure to update _all_ amarok packages and not only install amarok-helix from ct.kki.org Regards Christoph -- Christoph Thiel <ct@kki.org>, http://ct.kki.org/
