Greetings ! I've got SuSE Linux 8.1 Professional After an attempt for command "modprobe bttv" system gives me such message: # modprobe bttv /lib/modules/2.4.19-4GB/kernel/drivers/media/video/bttv.o: init_module: No such device Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters. You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg /lib/modules/2.4.19-4GB/kernel/drivers/media/video/bttv.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.19-4GB/kernel/drivers/media/video/bttv.o failed /lib/modules/2.4.19-4GB/kernel/drivers/media/video/bttv.o: insmod bttv failed # What should I do to make bttv work fine/without errors ??? and how can I find out - he sees my TVcard or not ??? Thank you for any solutions. P.S. On other machine another TVtuner is installed - AVerMedia TV Capture98 and "modprobe bttv" passes without errors. -- Jedis are alive --

There is an article re the bttv "problem" in the Suse's support knowledgebase. Basically, you need to do a small fiddle in the file /etc/modules/conf for the entry "options bbtv ....". For example, I had to edit my file to read "options bttv card=34 tuner=5 radio=1" in SuSE8.1 to make my bttv card work; and in SuSE8.2 I had to add "radio=1" for the radio to work even though the rest of the parameters were set correctly at installation time. (Of course, the 'card=xx'and 'tuner=yy' will need to be set to suit the hardware being used by "magre@hot.ee".) -- I was very heavily into pornography. Then my pornograph broke.
