Dear All, I just installed Suse 8.2 on my Compaq Presario 1700T laptop which previously had Suse8 working great. After installing I lost my Windows 2000 choice for booting into. I know that I must add it in the bootloader which is grub. I am not familiar with grub so how does one do this in grub? Thanks for the help. Marcia

do this in grub? The easiest way is through YaST: YaST/System/Bootloader configuration/Modify current configuration Then click on next a few times until your selections are visible and you have ADD, EDIT, DELETE buttons. Then just click on ADD, tell it it is windows, point to the proper device (eg. /dev/hda1), and that should do it. You may or may not want to make that the default. -- Jerry Feldman <gaf@blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9

No, no. Everything is working perfectly. Do not adjust your dial. ;-) dk

Ha! Ha! Actually, I rarely use it but need it once in a great while. The good news is I have it fixed now. I went to Yast2 and set up the boot config as suggested and it worked. Thank you all for your help. Marcia
