Bit of a story first. I usually screen my mail in mutt, and reply and sort with thunderbird. yesterday I got to thinking what an ease it would be to do everything in mutt. so i tried smpttest, but couldn't find my password. had my isp change it. I then changed the info to reflect it in yast for the provider and e-mail settings. Gave it time to change on the server, tried wvdial. got an exit code 19 (bad password) went back checked the password in yast got code 19 again. repeat 2 more times. goto X. both qinternet and K internet log on just fine go back to text console, wvdial again fails. use vi to edit it's config file, setting password manually to always ask, and it works. what gives? and more important, how do I fix it? I try running smtptest, both with and with out (ask) password. both times I get authentication failure, and it hangs, have to use ctrl-c to exit. nothing is in my mail spool, even though it shows on squirrelmail, when i recheck online, it's empty so my mail went somewhere (where?) when i try to send from thunderbird, it hangs. how do i fix these things? Joe
