[opensuse] Syncing smbpasswd & passwd
I'm setting up a server at work, that will be used to support Windows users. Is there anyway to have both passwd and smbpasswd set at the same time? What about if the server also runs a domain controller? tnx jk -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Yes! Been that way for years. What you are looking for is the 'passwd chat' option in smb.conf. It used to come set by default in smb.conf, but looking, I don't see it now. See also man smb.conf(5): pam password change (G) passwd chat debug (G) passwd chat (G) (Default: passwd chat = *new*password* %n\n*new*password* %n\n *changed*) Lars will know way more than I do on it... -- David C. I guess I'll have to figure out how to configure ldap then. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
