[opensuse] Installing 11.0 without CD.Internet based.Need some information.
1)I boot the installer(11.0) from a harddrive partition(hfsplus) and the installation system is downloaded from an opensuse repository.I tested already and stopped when five percent or so of the installation system was already downloaded.I need to know to where the installation system is downloaded,to the same hfsplus partition from where I booted the installation kernel? I have 250MB free space on that partition and at first sight it seems enough and in principle nothing in that partition will be erased(I assume there are controls to avoid that). 2)I have 160MB memory,so is it safe to use X based 11.0 installer or would be better to use : install textmode=1 at the install boot prompt? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Not sure what you mean. When the installation system is downloaded, it's being loaded into ram. It has a 4 part thing. Once that is done, the installation starts.

If you have less than 256MB RAM, you will need to setup a swap partition first, or the installer will probably fail. Also, please list you system specs. Since you say you have 160MB, I assume you are using a PCI PowerMac(Beige) or a Beige G3? I also sent this message to the opensuse-ppc list, which is a better place for you to get answers on PPC hardware related questions.
