Thanks to all who replied to my message. To get out of the graphical login interface which refused to accept any input, I rebooted the system with the kernel on level 2. I had tried Ctrl-Alt-Bkspace Ctrl-Alt-F1, F2, F3..... without any effect whatsoever. BTW, I got into this problem when I tried to update my current GNOME to version 1.2.1, the installation of which went very well or at least no error were reported. I have now re-installed the old version of GNOME and after some problenms with missing library files I managed to get my old GNOME working with enligtenment. cheers Carlos SuSE 6.4 Kernel 2.2.14 KDE 1.2 ______________________________________________ FREE Personalized Email at Mail.com Sign up at http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
