[opensuse] FW: Intel(R) PRO/1000 CT Network Controller Not Recognized, Suse 11.1
First I must point out that I'm new to Linux. I installed Suse 11.1 but I have no internet. Probably there are no drivers for "Intel(R) PRO/1000 CT Network Controller" Can I "create" them through the terminal? The controller is onboard an MSI 865 PE Neo2. I thank you in advance. __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 3917 (20090307) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Here's the readme: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/9180/eng/README.txt. Can you understand it from that? Allen -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
Well I followed the instructions but I get an error message : "Linux Kernel source not found in any of these locations" "Install the appropriate kernel development package, e.g" "kernel-devel, for building kernel modules and try again." I am running Suse 11.1, i586. -----Original Message----- From: Allen Zhu [mailto:allen.jaloola@gmail.com] Sent: Sunday, March 08, 2009 6:52 AM To: Konstantinos Cc: Catimimi; opensuse@opensuse.org Subject: Re: [opensuse] FW: Intel(R) PRO/1000 CT Network Controller Not Recognized, Suse 11.1 On Sat, Mar 7, 2009 at 12:25 PM, Konstantinos <icemangr04@yahoo.gr> wrote:

That controller is natively supported in Linux. In Yast, you need to open the network devices icon and either use the "ifup" method for the controller, or use networkmanager. I prefer the later. If you do that, then you can bring up networkmanager and define a connection. Problem solved. You were right the controller was recognized. Just had to set the default getaway. -----Original Message----- From: Fred A.
