I have the KDE panel and task bars set to autohide to free up realestate on my screen. I have the task bar set up on top of the KDE panel. Now neither will unhide. I can switch applications via the hot keys. Everything else seems to work fine. I have autofocus and autoraise set up and they work ok. It appears that the only way to get them back it to kill the session either by killing kwm or ctrl-alt-backspace. I've never had this happen before.

[please use the return key] Are you sure that kpanel is still running ? You can check with ps or top. If it is not simply start it from any terminal window. Did you select the 'hidden' option in the Applications -> Panel section of KDE Control Centre? If you did, this isn't what you want... this permanently hides the taskbar until you change it back to top or wherever. The option you want is the 'Autohide Taskbar', *without* selecting the taskbar to be hidden on the previous tab. I had the options in the KDE control panel set correctly. Somehow, kpanel decided to exit. So, the correct answer is to reexecute kpanel. On 19 Apr 2000, at 0:52, Chris Reeves wrote:
