adding space to user directories
******* Where does a newborn go from here? The Net is Vast, and Infinate...******** Hi Wizards and Gurus, How do I, add space to A users directory ?? especially once that sapce is close to full ?? Got an "artist" who actually does need more room than most , esp once the video editiong stuff gets added to that box... but the users directories are set to whatever Suse's default is ( I dont recall it asking me how big any of the Directories should be, but that is probably becasue I gave it an entire 18gig hard drive to use ...) TIA ( just stepping out of the office to locate my asbestos underwear , I should have located it by the time you read this <G>) Blondely, j afterthought--- tattoo.. a permanent reminder of a temporary feeling

Unless you turned on quotas, I don't think user directories have a set amount. It goes until you fill up the partition. In which you case you need a bigger disk, or some way to expand /home. -- Robert Wohlfarth rjwohlfar@bigfoot.com "Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?" -- Matthew 6:25b

You could mkdir /usr/home, mv /home/artist /usr/home and then with YaST (user administration) set your artist's home to /usr/home/artist. Don't do this while the "artist" is logged in. :) -- dieter
