Has anyone got Hylafax to work with SuSE 6.4? I keep getting the following error in /var/log/messages May 10 03:03:28 lx4 FaxQueuer[196]: NOTIFY: bin/notify "doneq/q199" "timedout" "" May 10 03:03:28 lx4 FaxQueuer[196]: Bad exit status 041400 for "bin/notify "doneq/q199" "timedout" " I've installed the Hylafax for SuSE 6.4 and both of the tiff rpms also. This was working with 6.3, but not with 6.4. Any ideas, or alternative fax software? thanks, Chris Geske LIMS Manager Northern Lake Service, Inc. ph: 715-478-2777 email: geskec@newnorth.net -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

I have no knowledge whatsoever about Hylafax, but I just want to point out that George Zeigler posted the following message earlier about a patched Hylafax. I don't know if the patch fixes your problem, but he mentions libtiff... --- start message --- George Zeigler wrote:

Hello, HylaFax for SuSE 6.4 was just recently patched, as of a few days ago to work properly with the libtiff 3.5 that came with SuSE 6.4 . Download the patched HylaFax rpm from ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse_update/6.4/n1/hyla_tiffp.rpm Tell me the results. By the way, there is a HylaFax HOW-TO for SuSE users on the www.hylafax.org FAQ it is Q115. Good luck and let me know if that new rpm does the trick. If you don't want to do a complete reinstall, the patch itself is somewhere on the HylaFax site. George Thu, 11 May 2000, ÷Ù ÎÁÐÉÓÁÌÉ:

Hello, The new Hylafax works great, except for a little problem with inbound faxes. If I start faxgetty, it captures the modem, and wouldn't let me start PPP connections until I kill it. Is there a configuration option to make faxgetty yield the modem when necessary? --ET. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! I installed the new hylafax rpm and don't have the problem using the modem to dial out with wvdial while hylafax is running. -- Brad Shelton On Line Exchange http://online-isp.com -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
Hello, I bet you have your using the device modem for HylaFax and your ppp connection. Use ttyS1 or ttyS2. This avoids lock problems. Go to www.hylafax.org FAQs to Q115 for detailed instructions George Sat, 13 May 2000, ÷Ù ÎÁÐÉÓÁÌÉ:
