I have a toshiba laptop (SuSE 8.1) that is working very nicely (ACPI excepted). The touchpad was my 'mouse' until I decided to plug in a USB mouse. The USB mouse now works very well, but I am unable to use the touchpad. I presume that this is in the XF86Config file somewhere but I am unsure as to what the settings should be for a touchpad. If possible could I use both, plugging in the USB mouse when I need it and using the touchpad when 'in transit' ?? Many thanks Pete
Oh well, it took a couple of weekends, but I found a very helpful sample config file on the web - www.angelfire.com/linux/notebook/toshiba/XF86Config.txt that includes all that I needed - I had got confused with the InputDevice numbering convention and also omitted an EndSection !! All I had to do once I restarted X was to do Shift F9 and both the USB and touchpad mice began to work... regards Pete On Saturday 30 November 2002 18:06, pete atkinson wrote:
