Evolution 1.4 - not working very well
I'm having the same problem with 1.4 as I did 1.3.92. Going from folder to folder is REALLY slow! I mean 3 seconds or so. Also my calendar doesn't work. No matter where I click...no calendar. Also resizing the screen and other screen movements are jerky and slow. Other than that, it starts really fast and everything else "seems" to work. Maybe I had a bad beta install. I just installed over it. How would I uninstall 1.4? Will it banish my current emails and addresses? I installed via Synaptic with ULB files...thanks James! (I don't hold you responsible). I'm running Ximian Desktop 2 with evolution 1.4, all packages from ximian.com here, and everything is running swimmingly. In fact, this is probably the slickest desktop I've had so far. Maybe you should try it?!

Same thing here runs great, I installed from Ximian.com and I haven't seen any problems. Yes it is slick, finally a mail program that can equal that other OS. John
My problem is with the settings option under tools, when I click it the program totally closes. I installed the RPM's from http://www.usr-local-bin.org/ , did I miss something... I installed all the dependencies stated on the web page. Any help is always greatly appreciated. On Tue, 2003-06-10 at 20:51, Tom Nielsen wrote:

The Calendar DOES work, You need to drag the line separator so you can see both the current day activities and the calendar for the month. Look that you have the lines there. Best regards, Sourian On Wed, 2003-06-11 at 06:05, William Westfall wrote:

Worry not, I noticed this on my home machine as well, I'll be investigating it when I get into the office... -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 8.2). I just launched Gnome2 and what a difference!!! 1.4 is really, really fast! It's crisp and very sweet! The calendar still doesn't work though. Tom On Tue, 2003-06-10 at 19:51, Tom Nielsen wrote:

How do you mean it doesn't work?
