Hi Check the log file /var/log/vsftpd.log. Here are the config files I use for a vsftpd server with two users, each with his own directory. Anonymous ftp is not enabled in this config. The simple script below should be able to guide you through the installation process. The files in the zip file should be modified for your needs and check the file permissions before you are done. This ftp server is started by Xinetd. If you have any further questions, please consult the documentation. Cheers /Niclas #!/bin/bash # The vsftpd files are placed in /root/CopySource/ mkdir /root/originals mkdir /home/ftpsite groupadd -r virtual useradd -d /home/user1dir -g virtual -p user1password -r user1 chmod 755 /home/user1dir chown user1 /home/user1dir chgrp virtual /home/user1dir mkdir /home/rmksite useradd -d /home/user3dir -g virtual -p user3password -r user3 chmod 755 /home/user3dir chown user3 /home/user3dir chgrp virtual /home/user3dir mv /etc/vsftpd.conf /root/originals/ cp /root/CopySource/vsftpd.conf /etc/ db_load -T -t hash -f /root/CopySource/vsftpd.users /etc/vsftpd_login.db chmod 600 /etc/vsftpd_login.db # mv /etc/pam.d/vsftpd /root/originals/vsftpd.pam cp /root/CopySource/vsftpd.pam /etc/pam.d/ftp cp /root/CopySource/vsftpd_users /etc/ mv /etc/xinetd.d/vsftpd /root/originals/ cp /root/CopySource/vsftpd /etc/xinetd.d/ cp /root/CopySource/vsftpd /etc/xinetd.d/ftp
