Don't use Window ME. It is not in the list of supported Windows platforms. The Guest additions only support (according to the documentation): - Windows NT4 - Windows 2000 - Windows XP - Windows Server 2003 - Windows Vista Is there a specific reason you need to use ME? ME was one of the more broken Microsoft releases (not counting Vista). C. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

By the way, there is a mail list dedicated to this: opensuse-virtual at opensuse.org

hans.linux: You can use vmware (server) instead, it still supports Windows Me.

I don't know about him, but my reason is I paid it and I don't want to buy another version till forced too. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. I think just the fact that it is ME should be enough of a reason to replace it. ME was panned with, good reason, by the IT industry as the worst of all the Windows releases. For example: http://www.pcworld.com/article/125772-2/the_25_worst_tech_products_of_all_ti... But.. not that important... as you pointed out, ME is supported in VMWare. If you need to run it... and have nothing better... then VMWare works. C. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

It's not reason enough if the programs I need to run do run in it. If it crashes, well, it is windows! It is to be expected. As a matter of fact, it seldom crashes for me, I can keep it running or suspended for days. I have removed many things from it, of course, that I run in the linux host instead. It is very slow, though. The expense is not justified, yet. When I'm forced to buy a new computer it will come with some windows almost "per force" and I will use it at that time.
But.. not that important... as you pointed out, ME is supported in VMWare. If you need to run it... and have nothing better... then VMWare works.
