[opensuse] nvidia driver and 10.2
Having just updated my 10.2 system with the nvidia driver I cannot get horizontal image central. It is at least 50mm away from the left vertical edge of the monitor. I've tried both sax2 adjustment and adjusting the monitor direct. Anybody got ant tips? Hi Phil I'm running the NVidia driver version 9629 on openSUSE 10.2 without problems with a GeForce 7800 (I think!) and all is well. Fonts are sharp and 3d is working well. I doubt its the card causing problems. Maybe you could focus on the monitor? You might mention the monitor type. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You might mention the monitor type. Monitor is a DELL 1707FP, resolution is 1240x1028 16.7mi colours. The graphics card is a GEFORCE 6220 PCI.

Do you mean this one? https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=219948 Apparently the oss driver uses another (valid) modeline which seems to be valid but worse than the one used by the binary driver, which gets it right in my case. Since "valid" seems to rank higher than "working", I would recommend to use the binary drivers. Sven I think this is probably the issue, but how do I get / install the binary drivers? I previously installed the nvidia drivers by using yast as per the easy way http://en.opensuse.org/NVIDIA

Try konvenientSUSE found at: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=43378 It has a one button install. I have not tried this myself yet but the other items I have and like this for adding repos as well. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
