Hi, List. My recent postings about the terrible problems I'm having trying to get a Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9 motherboard working with SuSE 9.3 have generated only 1 reply to the list. So I'll take a different approach and ask you for specific recommendations (manufacturer and model) of a motherboard that fits the following specifications: Requirements: 1) Accepts AMD 64-FX socket 939 or 940 processor 2) Upgradable to dual-core 3) PCI-e slot (video card) 4) Will accept DDR266 (PC2100) memory (and is upgradable to PC3200) 5) 4 memory slots (4 X 1GB capability) 6) At least 3 PCI expansion slots 7) on-board ethernet 8) on-board sound (5.1 would be nice!) 9) on-board USB 10) on-board firewire (expansion card is OK) I am going to have to exchange this Gigabyte board but my time to do so is limited, so I'd really appreciate your feedback very soon. Many thanks on behalf of my wife who desperately wants her pooter back. Gil

"I'm just a simple country lawyer..." (Sam Ervin, during the watergate hearings). That is, I am no guru. I got the MSI K8N Neo/SLI. Fits all of those, and sound is Creative SB Live! 24 bit, to boot. I had previously had trouble getting the ethernet I think it was, or maybe a raid chip on a Gigabyte to work easily with the SuSE linux of the time, maybe 8.0 or so. Traded for a MSI and was happy enough with it to get another when I last upgraded, the only time I seem to have should any brand loyalty through several MB upgrades. 9.3 installation was without pains, though I have not done much with the SB sound to really push or test it out. Basic sounds seem to function, that's all I've had time for so far. Memory will do dual-channel also. Socket 939. Running a 64-4000Hz right now. Everything seems to work so well, right out of the box, it is hard not to be happy. Can I get some money or a free something from MSI for this plug?? Richard
