New information.. it doesn't work with the binary driver under Mandrake 2007 either so guess it must be a problem with NVIDIA.
Ok, that's actually good news for us. Please create a bug report in our bugzilla, so we can assign that to NVidia. Post driver version, you graphics hardware name + PCI Id (lspci -n | grep 'Class 0300'), and the output of nvidia-bug-report.sh CU Matthias -- Matthias Hopf <mhopf@suse.de> __ __ __ Maxfeldstr. 5 / 90409 Nuernberg (_ | | (_ |__ mat@mshopf.de Phone +49-911-74053-715 __) |_| __) |__ labs www.mshopf.de
Following up on this again I have some more information for you all. I've been mucking around with Mandriva 2007 and the nvidia driver along with beryl and have managed to get them working as badly as Suse 10.1 did (same symptoms totally). I've discovered now that, by looking at the nvidia setup application that the LCD monitor is infact there but showing as disabled. When I try and enable it (either twinview or seperate X) it shuts down X and throws me back to the login screen. So, I guess that means its a problem with the driver rather than with either distro. Not sure where to go from here, but there you are. Peter. On Monday 09 October 2006 21:22, Matthias Hopf wrote:
