what version of SUSE is the most suitable for desktop use?
That is, with less money to pay, more stable, mature technical suport. 9.1 or 8.1, others? Ben

I'd go with 9.1, as I've had GOOD luck with it so far. Fred -- "The only secure Microsoft software is what's still shrink-wrapped in their warehouse..." (Forno)
Me too, every thing works fine just after installing it.
Good luck for us,SUSE users!

It is not on your list but I'd go with 8.2. Had great luck with it on my hardware and will remain my main OS unless I can get 9.1 to work without problems (no sound in kdetv). -- SuSE Linux 8.2 (i586) ---- 2.4.20-4GB-athlon --- Mon 05/31/04 21:05 9:05pm up 4:29, 4 users, load average: 0.02, 0.13, 0.20

Personally I'd go with 9.0. It seems to be far more stable than 9.1, from what I have sen on the mailing list, and asides from that even picked and is using my USRobotics ISA modem which is listed as a Winmodem. -- The Little Helper ======================================================================== Hylton Conacher - Linux user # 229959 at http://counter.li.org Currently using SuSE 9.0 Professional with KDE 3.1 Licenced Windows user ========================================================================
I'll second this, 9.0 Rocks... 9.1 WILL rock. If you got to install now go 9.0... Jerry On Wed, 2004-06-02 at 17:30, Hylton Conacher (ZR1HPC) wrote:
