[opensuse] 11.2 Final: Yast2 Parse Error
Hi, As usual I made a distr-upgrade from 11.1 to 11.2, using the installation DVD. It appears all is working well so far, except I noticed that, when I launch Yast2, the window outputs with a "Parse Error" (see annexed image). Wonder if others encountered the same and if are there some workarounds. Beside this, I would like to say: thanks for this nice new openSUSE release! Hi Marco, Yes, I am getting the same error as you when trying to install software through Yast2. It seems to work fine otherwise, though. I get it on one of two machines with openSUSE 11.2 running. Both were a clean install, no upgrade. When trying zypper refresh on the command line, everything works fine, no errors. Is that the same for you? Hello Joop! Sorry for my delayed answer, but I am seeing your reply just now! I confirm that "zypper ref is not" complaining for any errors. Strange that on another 11.2, which runs as virtual-machine, I have not this parse error problem, though this is not a clean upgrade, further, it contains some Factory pkgs, which I am resetting just now, by "zypper dup", after having disabled all the Factory repos. Our Yast2 issue seems to be affecting other users. Beside this I also noticed that there is a wrong displaying of the word "Details" into the Yast2 launcher small window, wherein it looks as a xml formatting error. I am sorry: I cannot take a screenshot of this problem right now, to better explain what I mean. Here the image shot of Yast2 window, which shows the source formatting (I suppose XML) of the word "Details" ("Dettagli" in it_IT.UTF-8). Cheers, Marco

Would like to get instructions about how to find a solution for my Yast2 "parse error problem", which is still present onto my main opensuse 11.2 box. The issue started after I rebuild my rpm database with "rpm --rebuilddb". Wonder if such command could been the cause of the parse error claimed by Yast2 and which attempts I could make in order to solve it. Another 11.2 box, which is running as Virtual-Machine is not affected by this problem, so I am almost fully convinced that I caused that with my own hands.
