My external fax modem has been connected to my windows based PC and as I now have two PC's successfully running SuSE V8.0 on our small network, it is time to move the fax modem into the Linux environment. Presently the windoze PC is still the gateway to the internet and my connection is via ADSL (I use the adsl line for faxing as well).. I am in the process of changing that, using an older P200mmx pc as the firewall/internet gateway machine and then the other PC's will connect through a second NIC in the firewall/gateway PC to the internet. Could I have some advice here from the experienced members on which PC to connect the fax modem to? Is it feasible to use the firewall/gateway PC, or should the fax modem be connected to a PC behind the firewall (i.e. Not the firewall/gateway pc)?
