It is not a big deal, but I did enjoy the convenience of starting with

applet so I could choose to, for example, open Writer with the desired template ready to go, rather than waiting for the application to fire up and then going through File > Templates, etc...

Hi Kai, Quickstarter is indeed what I am talking about, I just couldn't remember the name. Anyway, I looked under System>Desktop Applet> and OpenOffice.org Quickstarter is not there. Could you tell me what file it references, at least that way I'll be able to create a link to it. Thanks. Jesse

You probably have the original OO version. IIRC, quickstarter is only in the SUSE version.
