Hi, SuSE 8.0, Kde 3 with kppp and kmail. Kmail and Moxilla and Netscape and ... can't find my ISP. I'm not able to browse the web or send/fetch mails. This is from my user account. Kppp seems to be working OK. I can ping localhost and I can ping my ISP OK. In all the messages in /var/log I cannot see any suspicious. Setting up hostname 'xxxxx' Done Setting up loopback interface Done Well, there is one thing. /var/log/mail says: Sendmail[]: gethostbyadr (xxx.xxx.x.x) failed: 2 Any ideas, tips? Thanks, Thomas

Is your /etc/resolv.conf empty? When you set up kppp, did you set up automatic dns configuration? "Disable existing dns when connected"? Finally, check /usr/sbin/pppd. It should be suid/sgid regards Anders
