Bug 199474 - Unable to build a (any) kernel rpm on SuSE-10.1
Because of problems with SuSe's 10.1 rpm package, building any kernel rpm is not possible on SuSE 10.1. Here is microsofts, opps I meant SuSE's, opps I meant NOVELS, response to the problem. hmm .. i just talked with one of our kernel maintainers, make rpm is not supported. but maybe it would be smart to say it when call make rpm and exit ... Why do you behave like a 5 year old? What on earth do you expect to gain?

Right, as far as I understand it's not even used. Have a look at kernel-source.src.rpm, and look at the spec file. This is, I believe, what is actually used to build the official kernel rpms

They disable the broken auto req/prov feature of the rpm package manager via the 'Autoreqprov: off' spec file entry in their src rpm. The problem is that the scripts provided by the rpm package that do auto req/prov are broken. I bugged it, pointed them to the fix and they responded like a 5 year old. I was simply sharing my wonderful experience with them. Sorry if it offended you Andi. Mark
