[SuSE Linux] Re: Radio under SuSE 5.3
Hi Pat, Here's the radio scoop for Linux. First you need sound working on system. I recommend OSS/Linux. This should be working. To get this to start on bootup do the following 1. fire up your fav. editor (nedit for us:) as su root. 2. head to /sbin/init.d/boot.local and add the following: ! /bin/sh # # Copyright (c) 1996 S.u.S.E. GmbH Fuerth, Germany. All rights reserved. # # Author: Florian La Roche <florian@suse.de>, 1996 # Werner Fink <werner@suse.de>, 1996 # Burchard Steinbild <bs@suse.de>, 1996 # # /sbin/init.d/boot.local # # script with local commands to be executed from init on system startup # . /etc/rc.config echo Running /sbin/init.d/boot.local. # # Here you should add things, that should happen directly after booting # before we're going to the first run level. # /usr/lib/oss/soundon <--------- Add this line. echo Started OSS for Linux on wdm.com <-------- Add whatever you want after "echo". ~ Then save the file and re-boot. No if you have a AIMS radio card....... 2 apps I recommend are : a.
