Re: [SLE] RE: DCOP Server Error (resolved?)
Hey Tim, Yeah KDE 2.1 was loading up fine before. I think this DCOPserver error was related to these /tmp directories that were left over from kde2.1. I deleted those and it works fine. KDE2.1.1 made new ones. I was however experiencing that problem with the hanging splash screen in 2.1, it would stop at 50% and then go away as soon as I clicked on something. This stopped when I deleted my ~/.kde2 directory, (in both versions). Also I think that hanging splash screen thing is related in part to having kde restore your desktop next time you log in, you might want to leave that option unchecked after you try removing your .kde2 dir.
I deleted those directories and kde2 loads up now.
Was KDE 2.1 loading okay before you upgraded to 2.1.1? If so this might be the same problem I am having. If this is the case, I'll have to try your tip and see if it fixes my problem.
 Thanks, Tim
