Hello - I haven't gotten an answer from the KDE mail list, so guess I will try here also..
I have an issue which is a bit annoying to work around, so would like to find a more reasonable solution. My wife and I have laptops running openSuSE 11.2 and 11.3, KDE 4.4.4 and KDE 4.5 We both use an external USB drives formatted with a FAT32 file system and often want to send pictures or other files back and forth to store on these external drives.
Hate to jump in here late but have you looked at using access control lists ? Not certain they will work on usb, but if you list it is fstab with the acl parameter I think it might do what you want. You can use setfacl to give another user or group rights to the files/directory in addition to the owner -- Collector of vintage computers http://www.ncf.ca/~ba600 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
