Hello, upon returning from vacation my desktop refuses to boot. The last two messages are: kernel_request: I/O error, dev sdb, sector 472128714 kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(8,18) I assume this may be the result of an earlier YOU. Would anyone have a suggestion how to get my system alive again? Thanks, Ruud

use the Suse boot-cd and select the option booting installed system. Then try to install the kernel from the CD ode DVD.
