You can try a Mantel kernel, but they are _experimental_.

Read the readme to see what level kernel is currently being tested by SuSE.
It seems the new intel ICH4 support is not on the mantel kernel yet. Maybe I should wait a couple more day?
Per www.kernel.org ICH4 support went into 2.4.19-pre10 Per mantel/next/kernel-source.changes the mantel kernel is based on 2-4.19-pre10aa4. Sure sounds like it is there to me. hmmmm... I just installed the mantel 2.4.18-183, and my ICH4 still not detected. Since this is the first time I mess up with kernel, I want to know if I did the right things. 1. I download kernel 2.4.18-183, the rpm from SuSE ftp. 2. I install it using rpm -i --nodeps --replacefile kernel.2.4.18-183.rpm 3. I run mk_initrd 4. I run lilo hmmm.... Maybe I should download the 2.4.19-rc1 on kernel.org instead? And follow Mr. Rowan Reid instruction?
