Suse 7.0 professional bugs APACHE per default???
Hallo friends, now that I had to re install all the stuff because of "hard disk wreckage", I am stuck in some problems. Some are already written in the list. / always not cleanly umounted - why? syntax error in httpd.conf since second reboot after install and such. This mail deals again with starting apache. As I said, I reinstalled all from scratch, but since SECOND REBOOT, I keep getting a syntax error in httpd.conf - which I did not change. When I exec "/usr/sbin/httpd -t -f /etc/httpd/httpd.conf $MODULES" I get like: httpd: cannot determine local host name. Use the ServerName directive to set it manually. Now what? /etc/HOSTNAME and /etc/hosts contain the name. How should I proceed now? -- *º¤., ¸¸,.¤º*¨¨¨*¤ =Oliver@home= *º¤., ¸¸,.¤º*¨¨*¤ I http://www.bmw-roadster.de/Friends/Olli/olli.html I I http://www.bmw-roadster.de/Friends/friends.html I I http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VGAP-93 I I http://home.t-online.de/home/spacecraft.portal I

What is ServerName set to in /etc/httpd/httpd.conf ? This may be the clue to your problem. Regards, -Kastus

I expected YAST1 to set it correctly, as it asked me for the hostname. THIS WAS THE FAULT - NEVER TRUST YAST! But why the heck does yast not activate the ServerName option? Since original install, it has been this default # ServerName xxxx.suse.de WHY??? -- *º¤., ¸¸,.¤º*¨¨¨*¤ =Oliver@home= *º¤., ¸¸,.¤º*¨¨*¤ I http://www.bmw-roadster.de/Friends/Olli/olli.html I I http://www.bmw-roadster.de/Friends/friends.html I I http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VGAP-93 I I http://home.t-online.de/home/spacecraft.portal I
