As a newbie I am kept very busy adding to my Linux vocabulary. There are hundreds of filenames, program names, scriptwords, abbreviations, codewords, commands, utilities etc., most of them unintelligible, and many of them copies of one another. Can anyone point me to a comprehensive dictionary of Linux/Unix words that is not peculiar to any one distro ? Best regards. -- Geoff Bagley G3FHL

Yes, but it's not really a dictionary but a very excellent tutorial. The Rute Users Tutorial: http://burks.brighton.ac.uk/burks/linux/rute/node1.htm or at: http://rute.sourceforge.net/ Cheers Jonathan
