IRC moving from freenode to libera
... continued from factory. Carlos, you have the wrong server specified. It is 'irc.libera.chat', not 'libera.chat'. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (14.6°C) Member, openSUSE Heroes.

Yes, the particular post from which I pasted the server had it wrong. I'm connected now. Not easy, the procedure is not explained anywhere, one has to ask. Not many new users will come this way... -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.2 x86_64 at Telcontar)

The procedure is the same as always, at least I didn't notice that anything had changed.

There is a very good chance the new users will be using more modern tools - plenty of them out there. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (14.7°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland.

And previously it took me a week or two to connect.

I have already sent a patch to hexchat in tumbleweed to add libera.chat to the network list section. Using hexchat and selecting from the list should make it about as straight forward as hexchat can be for new users, although many new users will probably find joining the Discord group much easier (Yes we are working to bridge this with matrix for people who don't want to use Discord). -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B
