-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have 9.1 Pro and I can get xmms to play music. But I have a problem with other apps and native kde sounds - i.e. none. Yes, I have made sure the mixer is not set to 0 and have checked the permissions and believe them to be set correctly, but I could be wrong. An example of the problem I am having is as follows: Open the KDE Control Center and go to sound section. Press the test button and it plays the test wave file. But in the section for events (e.g. app events, login/logout/etc events) when you set a sound for say Startup wave and then hit the play button button (at the bottom of the page) I get nothing. Also sound is not playing in apps and games such as tribes2. Anyone else having a similar problem? Does anyone have any idea as to a solution? Oh, and another thing, when I installed the OS I did so that certain dirs were left pristine from the previous (9.0 installation). For example my partitions are set up as follows: / #root /usr /usr/local /home /boot and 2 swap partitions. I formated the / (root), /usr, and /boot partitions, leaving the /home and /usr/local untouched (in order to not have to reinstall the apps - basically games, Loki update/uninstall, etc). I did clear the .mcop, .mcoprc, and the links in the .kde directories (e.g. tmp-<computer name>, socket-<computer name>, and the cache-<computer name> files) that point to the /tmp directory. Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated. TIA, Curtis. - -- Spammers Beware: Tresspassers will be shot, survivors will be shot again!
