Wolfi: A while back, in answer to my plea, you gave me detailed instructions on how to setup an IDE DVD-ROM. Only this afternoon I tried it, and got a rub. When, after all the preliminaries, I clicked on Xine, it opened, showing the gui above the name in the middle of the screen. I clicked on the DVD button and nothing happened. It occurred to me that it might be because I had setup the link as /dev/hdc /dev/dvd, when the cdrom is set to /dev/sr0. I went back to Konsole and changed the link to /dev/sr0 /dev/dvd. I got back to xine and it came up, but *without* the gui! So, I can't test whether the DVD plays or not. How do I get the gui back?
