[SLE] Question about compiling KDE apps on Suse 6.3
Hi! I tried compiling a KDE app under my freshly installed SuSE 6.3. I installed using Yast2 and everything seemed fine. Now when I try to compile KCommander for example, here is the error I get (See >> below). Since I did not recompile the KDE libs and QT myself, I'm wondering what I've done wrong. Has anyone had the same problem? Can anyone help me? Here is the output of ./configure:
checking for kde libraries installed... configure: error: your system fails at linking a small KDE application! Check, if your compiler is installed correctly and if you have used the same compiler to compile Qt and kdelibs as you did use now

The dafault SuSE installation does not install all the header files, libraries and tools to compile packages. You may wish to install the rest of packages to make your installation a development system. It takes quite a bit of space, but you most likely won't have to mess with failed dependencies. The easy fix is to go into YaST and install KDevelop from [kpa]. Tell YaST to get all of the deps, and you should be okay. Not that you *need* KDevelop, but KDevelop needs a lot of libraries that you may or may not have installed, including the Qt and KDE development libraries. -- -=|JP|=- Jon Pennington | Atipa Linux Solutions -o) jpennington@atipa.com | Kansas City, MO /\\ 816-241-2641 x121 | http://www.atipa.com _\_V -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
