My guess: It is probably greyed out because it is currently in use by the distribution you are running yast under. The swap partitions get a "signature" placed on them, saying what system they belong to. I found it is best to boot from the floppy boot disk when trying to install a second system. That way the swap partition is not in use, and can have it's signature overwritten. I've done this, and get a warning message, saying the "selected swap partition has a valid signature, are you sure you want to overwrite it? Just to be safe, why not just make a second swap file for your second installation?
