Hello all, With all the negative publicity about SuSE 9.3, I thought I'd give some positive sounds. Sure, I've had some quirks to fix with this installation (it wouldn't install from my DVD player; only from my CD burner, it booted into xdm i.s.o. kdm, "End current session" doesn't always function as it should, etc.), but overall this is the fastest I've managed to get a distribution working for me ever. After installing the updates, some packages from Packman, and some separate software (whose brilliant idea was it to remove kuickshow?) I haven't had any major problems yet, and I've happily been playing all those music and video files I've got lying around. I've been ripping cds, and been communicating with the Windoze machines my wife and daughter insist on using. I've been sending email, playing Stars! through wine on a normal resolution (1280x1024), played around with OpenOffice.org 2.0, and been very impressed with the look and feel of KDE 3.4. Overall I can say that I'm happy to've made the switch from 9.1 (which after fixing all the bugs worked quite well for me) to 9.3. If I encounter any major problems, I'm sure I'll report them back to the list. :) Regards, Pieter Hulshoff

No one's idea at all? It's here on my 9.3 installation: % type kuickshow kuickshow is /opt/kde3/bin/kuickshow % rpm -q --whatprovides $(type -p kuickshow) kdegraphics3-imaging-3.4.0-14
...

Hmm, this rpm is not present on my cds. Perhaps now that my dvd player is working I'll have a look on there. Regards, Pieter
