KMix prob locking setting between sessions
Hello, SUSE 10.1 install, using AMAROK which I really like. The sys is an AMD Athlon Barton core on a MB with an integrated VIA AC97 sound setup. This sys has worked fine on sound in both 9.3 and 10.0 Now under 10.1, each time it is booted, restarted or even just a new KDE session, the sound is OFF. I can get it working again by going to KMix and finding a slider for VIA*** which is set to -0- whenever the sys starts. Once slid up the sound is back. Is there a way to get this sliders position remembered or locked? PeterB

i had a similar problem: after i muted kmix once, it was always muted after each restart, regardless of how often i unmuted it. My solution was a bit odd but it worked: a) Exit KDE. b) Start up with another Windowmanager (e.g., WindowMaker). c) Start kmix and adjust the settings. d) Exit kmix. e) Exit your windowmanager f) Go back to KDE. i hope this helps. -- ----- stephan@s11n.net http://s11n.net "...pleasure is a grace and is not obedient to the commands of the will." -- Alan W.
