For the past three days zypper has not been able to refresh my installation sources to check for up dates, which makes YaST pretty much useless because it also can not refresh the sources. I have been able to use Smart with no problems, running zypper from the command line does not work ether, the only thing I can tell it to do with out getting errors because it can not refresh my sources is zypper sl. Now I know it not a problem with the Servers/mirrors because after getting the list of services I checked all the urls to see if they were working. The only one that I found that did not work was the one I had for OpenOffice. It seems that for some reason I am not able to add or remove installation sources to my system, when I try to do so with YaST I get this errer Unable to create installation source from URL 'http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.2/repo/oss'. Details: Bad Media attach point: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.2/repo/oss/ And when I try to add it just using zypper all it says is that the URL is a bad media attach point. Anyone know what is going on here?

Zypper or one of its' libraries is broken. There are a number of buglist threads open in the buglist mailing lists. One of note is: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=297647#c24 If you wipe the SQL database as mentioned in that thread and allow zypper to rebuild it, I have had good results in getting it to work again well enough to allow updates and most normal activities. I see that they are forcing some zypper updates out also so you probably do want to try to fix the database so the update can take effect.
