Re: [SLE] sending an automatic mail to new users]
Probably the best thing to do would be to send yourself a mail with what ever message you want in it.
Ok
Have a look in your mail box in /var/spool/mail/yourname and grab the mail (headers and all) and save this to a new file.
Ok
All you will need to do in future is just copy this file into /var/spool/mail/newuser
But this would mean I would have to did manually, perhaps I should write a script to make users and after making the users copy the email file to the /var/spool/mail/$newuser (it would be a variable in the script). But that would mean I wouldnt be able to use YaST anymore....I will think about it...
Kind regards,
Paul

In previous versions of SuSE, you could create a script called "useradd.local". But you had to use YaST to add users. Is "useradd.local" part of YaST2?
