I've 11.0 with the kde 4.1 beta factory update from today.
MidNightCommander, mc, will do that in a text window. It already has a configured menu command.

Then your experience is sadly lacking if you are unable to open a terminal window in kde4. mc is *normally* installed and available on *most* distros. Using the default install on at least 10.3, mc isn't installed by default. Why? I have no idea. I don't remember what I did on the install of 11.0. Maybe it's back as default. We did re-read the entire thread. User asked how to do something in Dolphin. You replied with a method to use a different tool. User said thanks but no thanks And you unloaded on her suggesting she was ignorant and a troll. Perhaps its you who needs to re-read the thread. I fail to see where that holds true. Yes the original author asked how to do something in Dolphin, which at the moment is not possible, unless this works http://kde- apps.org/content/show.php/Extract+And+Compress+KDE4?content=84206&PHPSESSID=d02316edc135806eb61a173b1c38eb7c I ran into it yesterday while browsing through KDE-apps.org, because the functionality that is wanted is currently missing workarounds where suggested to the author so that they could create a zip archive. It is up to the original author to take the suggestions or leave them. I know by posting this I am next to be targeted but I don't really care. -- "We must plan for freedom, and not only for security, if for no other reason than only freedom can make security more secure."
