You can look at expect for the ftp process since ftp is normally an interactive one. Use cron to schedule the job to run at specific times. Ken Schneider

Can you use rsync or does it have to be ftp? You can have a shell script copy via rsync, then have the command run by cron. You can use System->Configuration-KCron to set up the command if you are not comfortable with editing the crontab by hand.... just a thought.. ~j

man ftp alternatively, you can use wget (using ftp protocol). Both programs can be set to get a file from the command line, giving login and password if necessary. For example: wget --timeout=90 --waitretry=10 --continue \ ftp://anonymous:user@server@ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/7.3_update/kernel/2.4.16-20020416/kernel-source-2.4.16.SuSE-32.i386.rpm another one: wget --timeout=45 --waitretry=10 --continue \ http://ftp.netscape.com/pub/netscape7/english/7.1/unix/linux22/sea/netscape-...
I want also that script to run at a specific time.
man cron -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
