[opensuse] KDE4 multihead support
Hey! There were complains about KDE4 and multihead support. Well, there is work going on in that area but nobody to test the code because the devs do not use multihead. http://aseigo.blogspot.com/2010/11/multihead-saga-continues.html The second part of the changes committed will be in KDE 4.6 beta 2 (http://techbase.kde.org/Schedules/KDE4/4.6_Release_Schedule) which you can get from the KDE repos. http://en.opensuse.org/index.php?title=KDE_repositories&stable=0&shownotice=1&fromsection=Factory_%28KDE_SC_4%6%29#Factory_.28KDE_SC_4.6.29 Please test, if you are interested in KDE improving its multihead support. Hi Sven! Thanks a lot for bringing up this information! We've been using Multihead machines here with Xephyr + gdm2.0 recipes for quite a time now. We are delight to know that finally there are new options appearing, and I would really like to give it a try! (at the moment, the only available machine for tests here is my personal notebook, and I'm not quite sure the gpu it has can properly deal with multiple screens... we shall see). I would really like a bit of more information on how to implement this. I remember trying to find anything on this online about an year ago, and finding *nothing*. I would really like to give it a try, but I also really need more information on how to configure my system so that I can test the status of the actual solution! ;) Thanks a lot in advance if you can point me out to anywhere! :) Sincerely yours, Jones On Wed, Nov 24, 2010 at 6:44 AM, Sven Burmeister <sven.burmeister@gmx.net> wrote:

You can either contact Aaron directly via his blog or subscribe to the <plasma-devel@kde.org> mailinglist if you have any further questions. Since Aaron asked for feedback he should be quite happy to answer your questions.
