During installation of 8.2, how do you enable swap space? Or do you have to do it later? === Why I ask I'm installing 8.2 for the first time on a new machine. I'm trying to roughly duplicate an existing 8.0 machine. During the initial 8.0 install I marked one of the partitions as "swap". However, if I now do a "swapon -s" on that old machine, it is not showing any assigned swap space. Nor do I see a swap entry in /etc/fstab. I'm concerned that I screwed up somehow. === Why I ask
I'm installing 8.2 for the first time on a new machine.
You need to run "mkswap" on it before you do swapon. It's like formatting it for swap. Read "man mksawap". -- use Perl; #powerful programmable prestidigitation
