As long as the subject string has changed, could I suggest saving some space by shortening it to [s-l-e] or [SLE] before everyone gets too accostomed to the new even longer one? -Bob
As long as the subject string has changed, could I suggest saving some space by shortening it to [s-l-e] or [SLE] before everyone gets too accostomed to the new even longer one?
Yes, anything but the current [suse-linux-e]. Please? Thanks, Greg
OH YES THANKS, MAKE TWO CHANGES!!! AND I HAD ALREADY CHANGED MY FILTERS THANKS CAN DO IT AGAIN NOW ;-)!! BTW It 's very _very_ descriptive this [SLE], but there is one positive point to it. Now you can read more of the subject in one view. BB, Arjen

Why not filtering the "to" or "cc" to include "suse-linux-e"? That's just an example but you don't have to filter the subject. Just a tip;) Tina -- Tina "diffuze" Johnsson ICQ# 37210680 [http://surf.to/diffuze/]
Hello Tina,
THANKS CAN DO IT AGAIN NOW ;-)!!

As someone pointed out, what will never change and is stable, is the following: "X-Mailinglist: suse-linux-e" And that's what I am filtering on. I usually also filter on coffee grind, dust, pollen, tar (occasionally), tea leaves and well... actually you could say I am a filter freak. I filter hundreds of litres of air every day. :-) BB, Arjen

Or how about removing this silly thing completely? Ciao, Stefan

No, please don't remove it... As I wrote in another mail to the list, the subject is the only reliable (sort of) thing I have to distinguish this list from everything else in my filters, but [SLE] is fine with me. -- Regards Med venlig hilsen Ole Kofoed Hansen mailto:k01164@ko.sdu.dk ICQ-UIN: 25773325

Actually, you can filter for the 'To' line, which never changes, unless a user messages you privately, but then you can tell if it went to the list or not. -- S.Toms - tomas@primenet.com - http://www.primenet.com/~tomas S.u.S.E. Actually, no I cannot filter (reliably) with the To: line, because it does indeed change. When people select reply to all recipients (in Pine 4.04 at least), the To: field contains only the address of the original poster, while the list address is in the CC: field. -- Regards Med venlig hilsen Ole Kofoed Hansen mailto:k01164@ko.sdu.dk ICQ-UIN: 25773325
